Description
On the beach one dawn, I saw a child throwing things into the water. As I drew near, I could see it was starfish that had been stranded by the tide. "Why are you doing that?" I asked. He said, "They'll die on land." "You can't save them all. What difference does it make to throw a few back?" He threw another and smiled at me. "It made a difference to that one."
This was adapted from an article by Richard J. Bauman in order to fit the picture. But it's a lovely philosophy. We might never know the good our small acts of kindness will do, but good is the right thing to do in every situation.
For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
