An ikebana - a Japanese flower arrangement - using lilacs, my Mother's favorite flower. I sent her some once which she took to her workplace in Florida. It instantly separated people. Southerners would say, "Oh, what pretty flowers. What are they?" Northerners would stop short and say "Lilacs! Where did you get lilacs?"
